Welcome to
My Universe

Bild BIO.png

I’m Carla Romana Fantini, artist, author, translator… and mother of two teenage boys who keep me grounded (and slightly insane).

I live and create in Innsbruck, Austria.
By day, I work as a freelance translator for  business and law firms between Austria and Italy, because imagination is rich, but the fridge still needs filling.
By night (or whenever life and laundry allow), I draw, I write, I build worlds.

What I Create

Right now, I’m writing Ancient Callings, a raw, evocative dark fantasy saga about portals, lost twins, desire, and forbidden truths.
It’s not just fantasy, it’s a reckoning. A tale of vengeance, rebellion, and unspoken love.

Warning: explicit themes, sensual scenes, and powerful, unpredictable magic ahead. Recommended for 18+.

Ancient Callings is a work of fiction. All characters, events, magical elements, rituals, legends, spiritual practices, and belief systems in this books are entirely imaginary and not based on or promoting any real-world traditions or ideologies. Some locations and place names, such as cities, monuments, or natural landmarks, are inspired by real places, but are reimagined and used purely for storytelling purposes. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

Before that, I published the Jade & Echo mini-book series, poetic, emotional stories rooted in survival, identity, and reinvention.
One of the books in the series, Love Lost in Transmission, was honored with the Thalia Storyteller Award 2025, recognizing its emotional depth and unique voice.

And because I never stop sketching, I’ve launched two coloring book collections:
one inspired by Ancient Callings,a visual gateway into that world, designed to be savored slowly
and another called Little Realm, created for children, drawn in colored pencils and filled with wonder.

What I’ve Done

In 2025, I was honored with the Thalia Storyteller Award for my  book Love Lost in Transmission, a book that explores what happens when two people feel deeply but speak in different emotional languages. The book was presented at the Story. One Meet & Greet in Düsseldorf, celebrating new voices in literature, surrounded by many other moving stories.

I’ve exhibited my art across Italy and Austria, including:

  • Hofburg, Art Innsbruck, Ferdinandeum, Galerie D’Ecole

  • SkyDent, Kunstmarkt

  • Accademia Belle Arti di Verona

My path started with Interior Design in Rome and eventually brought me to Translation Studies in Innsbruck,
because to me, words and images are just two ways of mapping reality.

What Moves Me

Stories that don’t ask for permission.
Art that pulses like memory.
And a kind of motherhood that leaves space for magic and maybe a bit of madness.

Welcome.
Stay as long as you like, just watch your step around the portals.
